FINAncial COMMITMENT
We are committed to our school and programming being Pay What You Can. Why? We think that for students, community education is a right not a privilege. Systems of financial aid are deeply rooted in perpetuating systems of oppression for marginalized communities and families. We are not looking for proof of poverty or need, but leading with trust of the family and individual. We have chosen to be Pay What You Can because the class makeup of the United States is complex and in order to address classism and build bridges between communities, we will not only serve low income students. We see this as part of the experience to work as an organization that is showing True Cost of programming for families to work with us. We know that being more connected to this nation will make our nation and local communities better. Until Field Academy becomes a public school that every student in every district in the country can join, we will stay Pay What You Can. |
