HUMZA MIRZA

Even though I had my Field Academy experience more than 5 years ago, I value the lessons learned on my trip more and more as I grow older.

My trip gave me a unique base through a variety of challenges and life experiences that allow me to deal with personal interactions on a much more intimate and empathetic manner.  Given what is going on in the world right now, a time where it seems like there's overwhelming amounts of hate being spread, lessons from the Field Academy allow me to face this hate with tolerance and love.

The wonderful thing about the Field Academy is that I took my trip as a sophomore in high school, yet I appreciate the education even more in college. I constantly revisit the themes that we went over in my everyday life, giving me an extraordinarily unique perspective about the world, especially in terms of service and community.  The Field Academy was a 5 week trip that has extended into my everyday life over the last 5 years.  It is an experience for any person looking to gain incredible life skills on how to become a global citizen.
